COLD WATER FACTS:
- It takes less than 1/2 cup of water in a person's lungs to drown.
- On an average year (3,000 cfs) Nevada County Rivers have five drownings.
- This year's projected flow is expected to reach in excess of 8,000 cfs.
- Current water temperatures are around 50 degrees and they will continue to decrease into the upper 40's.
