Miner Strong...

Nevada Union High School (NU) is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills northeast of California's capital,Sacramento. Situated between Nevada City and Grass Valley. The school serves the incorporated cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City as well as a large surrounding community that includes the areas of North San Juan, Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Lake Wildwood, and Alta Sierra.

Our serene rural setting provides a warm welcome to students, staff and our community. We pride ourselves on providing a safe and welcoming campus, enabling students to grow in confidence and skills with the wide variety of academic and extracurricular options at Nevada Union. We have between 1400-1500 students in any given year.

Our students are prepared for success beyond high school in areas they have focused on as well as learning new things along the way. Nevada Union Miner pride extends beyond the current students to an entire supportive community where many before us have received their diplomas even before our current site opening it's doors in 1961.

Our school was named a California Distinguished School in 1997, 2008 and 2013, and in 1998 was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon High School. Nevada Union serves ninth through twelfth grade students. NU is WASC Accredited through 2029.
