This course is designed to build on knowledge of basic systems of a contemporary automobile. The class is designed to help the student develop the skills and related technical knowledge of automotive services necessary to meet job entry requirements with a strong base for growth and continued education within the industry. The course focuses on basic auto repair from bumper to bumper, and teaches students how to diagnose and repair basic systems including: engine performance, engine repair, automotive maintenance, electrical systems, transmissions, drive lines, brakes, and suspension. Designed for students that have successfully completed Beginning Automotive Services, this course should be taken by students interested in a hands-on career based curriculum. The course also serves as a prelude to Automotive Technology. Employment opportunities may include entry level technician, auto parts and service sales person.
