AP U.S. History

This course includes an in-depth study of the history of the United States designed to challenge higher thinking students. Students will recognize significant events in U.S. History, demonstrate an understanding of the importance of geography and natural resources, and relate major characteristics and development of American political, governmental and legal systems. In the course of these studies, students will sharpen their abilities to analyze and interpret all of
this information. The University of California recognizes this as an honors class and adds one point when computing one’s G.P.A.

3.5 GPA is recommended.
Students who plan on taking the course are responsible for picking up summer assignments from the instructor. Once a student and parent commit to enrollment in any Honors or AP course, the student is required to remain in the class for the year.
