All students wanting to participate in sports at Nevada Union must
have medical insurance to cover them during their sports, register online withFamilyID, complete, submit and upload a newsports physicalevery school year after May 21st and receive an approval before trying out or participating in any sport, that includes summer sports.

Welcome to the Nevada Union High School Athletics website. Athletics is
an extra-curricular activity and an extension of the classroom.
Students are expected to follow the NJUHSD Code of Conduct and Athletic
Parents, students and fans are expected to follow the CIF code of
conduct which emphasizes sportsmanship, ethical conduct and fair play.

Season master schedules are subject to change due to weather, facility or other school issues so please check the "Weekly Schedule of Events" for the most accurate information.
Students will be notified of any last minute changes, with weather or other events create potential schedule changes please have students check the postings at the Principal's Office, Athletic Director's office, Student Store or contact the head coach. If school is cancelled, all activities are also cancelled including athletics. If there is any doubt, please call NU and listen to KNCO radio for details.

Athletic clearance is now online at www.familyid.com. Parents must register their student for each sports season.
We highly recommend students attend the annual sports physical clinic night in May each year. Cost is reasonable and sports physical forms may be picked up, the Athletics office (located in the Student Store) or you can download from the website. Please return the completed physical to the athletics office (located in the Student Store).
If you are planning on driving students other than your children to school events a parent driver application is required. Forms may be picked up at the Main Office, Athletic Department (located in the Student Store) or downloaded from the website and should be returned with copies of your insurance policy and drivers license to the athletic department for approval.

Meetings for each sport will be hosted by the head coaches at the beginning of each season.
All students coming to Nevada Union from another school MUST speak with the athletic director. CIF must approve ALL transfer students for athletic eligibility. CIF forms may be required subject to the conditions of the student transfer. See CIF bylaws 206,207 and 510 for student transfer details (cifsjs.org).
Students and parents are expected to read the Athletic Code. Any issues, questions or concerns should be discussed with the coaching staff as a first course of action. Please refer to section I-2 of the Athletic Code for communication protocol. Any appropriate issues that are not resolved in a meeting between student/parent and coach may be brought to the attention of the AD.
